Scott Uehlinger, born on Long Island, NY, is the son of a Suffolk County police officer. A 1986 graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, he was commissioned in the US Navy and served four years at sea on active duty. After some years sailing in the merchant marine, he entered the Central Intelligence Agency in 1996 as an Operations Officer. While in CIA, he served abroad in five countries of the former Soviet Union for more than twelve years, personally working against threats to US national security. Scott married in 2012, settling in Topton, PA with his Moldovan wife and stepdaughter (both Green Card holders), not far from where his parents have relocated. He retired from the Naval Reserve in 2014 as a Commander, and is a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. Since retirement from CIA in October 2014, Scott has begun speaking at numerous universities in the northeast on National Security and veteran’s issues. He has also been a contributing source to Fox News, NewsMaxTV and online blogs dealing with national security, particularly Russian, Iranian and Terrorism issues. He will be teaching at NYU beginning Fall 2016. Scott counts Ronald Reagan among his personal heroes, and is a lifelong Conservative. He is determined that in his position as a Republican Delegate to the National Convention, the voices of the citizens of the 15th Congressional District will be heard.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, reading extensively (history and biography), physical fitness and riding/wrenching classic motorcycles. Please visit his LinkedIn and Facebook sites!
